Praying for Peace

Here we are again facing another national election! Like in golf, with every shot, someone will be happy and someone sad!

If I hit a great shot, I will be happy and my competitor will be sad! In our deeply divided country, after next week, half the country will be happy and the other half sad.

What concerns me as a citizen is that the disappointment of half the country will fuel deeper anger and division. This is why we as Christians need to pray for peace!

All I really want is to live a “peaceful and quiet life” in my beautiful country. I choose to take the way of Jesus and work at being a peacemaker.

I serve the Kingdom of God first and our citizens span the whole globe! My love of country must be second to my loyalty to God’s Kingdom.

Our local Christian community cannot be divided by anything of this world. When we come to worship God and the Lamb,

we come to declare that only God’s kingdom will endure throughout this age. Let us resolve to pray and intercede for our leaders and give thanks to God for all things.
