The Need for Perfection
We need perfection! What that means biblically, is that we need to be made fit for eternity in the presence of God and His new creation.
It also means that on this side of eternity, we will always need improvement! We are like the piece of old furniture that needs restored.
We need to be sanded (trials), we need to be fixed (healing) and we need a new stain or paint. God has in mind what He is working on.
He can see the finished product. We can’t! What we have to do is trust that He is working through all of life’s circumstances to build us into the finished product that will inhabit eternity.
The hope of Easter is the hope that we will not only be renewed in our inner person, but that we will have new bodies fit for immortality.
Only Jesus is resurrected into this new reality. We will someday join him when he returns and God renews creation.
Right now we need patient endurance as we move towards our inheritance. Jesus gives us all we need as his disciples to build our lives on the rock.
May you stay on the narrow path of surrender and obedience. Trust that “he who began a good work in you, will carry it on to completion, until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
